Projects Across the Pacific Northwest
From federal timber sales to private land management, here's a look at the work we do every day in the Columbia Gorge, Willamette Valley, and Southern Washington.
Volume Estimations in Eugene, Oregon
Documented vegetation, tree species, and height to calculate the composition of stand and forest height. This data informed harvest scheduling and provided the landowner with a clear picture of the timber value on their property.
Timber Cruising in Cascade Locks, Oregon
Estimated costs and profits of timber sales for a local landowner. Detailed cruise data allowed us to present competitive bids and secure fair market value while planning for post-harvest reforestation.
Trail Clearing in Cascade Locks, Oregon
Cleared trails for mountain biking and hiking to improve recreational access and safety. Removed hazard trees and overgrown brush along the trail corridor while minimizing disturbance to the surrounding forest.
Tree Marking in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest
Marked designation by prescription and designation by description for the federal government. Worked closely with the U.S. Forest Service to meet strict federal harvest specifications across multiple units.
Selective Harvest Marking in the Columbia Gorge
Identified and marked individual trees for a selective harvest operation. Careful selection ensured the remaining stand maintained optimal spacing, species diversity, and long-term growth potential.
Chainsaw Trail Clearing
Used precision chainsaw work to clear downed trees and heavy brush blocking access trails. Restored safe passage for landowner access while leaving the site clean and free of debris.
Mechanical Mastication Project
Deployed mechanical mastication equipment to reduce heavy brush and slash across a large site. This fuel reduction work significantly lowered wildfire risk while preparing the ground for replanting.
Forest Surveying in the Gorge
Conducted on-the-ground forest inventory and site surveying to establish baseline data for a new management plan. Measured species composition, stand density, and growth rates across multiple forest types.
Post-Harvest Site Assessment
Evaluated a recently harvested hillside to plan reforestation and erosion control. Assessed soil conditions, drainage patterns, and remaining vegetation to develop a site-specific recovery plan.
Log Grading and Quality Assessment
Performed on-site log grading to ensure accurate scaling and fair payment during a timber sale. Quality assessment data helped the landowner understand the true value of their timber before it left the landing.
Have a Project in Mind?
Whether it's a small property clean-up or a large-scale timber sale, we'd love to hear about it.
